01 Learn to Ride

Course Outline:

In course Level .01 Learn to Ride we get you rolling - you’ll learn the basics on how to ride a motorcycle in a straight line and easy radius corners using correct braking, throttle control, body position. Students will gain practical experience riding a motorcycle learning on 50cc to 110cc pitbikes.

Who Can Ride:

You are between the ages of 5 yrs and 95 yrs old and can ride a bicycle proficiently - you’ve never ridden a motorcycle and would like to learn. Your inseam should measure a minimum of 61cm (24") in length.

02 Conquer Corners

Course Outline:

In Conquer Corners we lay the basis for correct muscle memory to form for future speed in corners. Students learn to use their eyes to look through a corner, correct body position in corners, also braking and throttle control. Students will become more comfortable and have a feeling of control on the motorcycle.

Who Can Ride:

You are a graduate from Level .01 Learn to Ride class, or you just got your motorcycle licence, or you have been on a motorcycle a couple of times.

Summary: You are just starting out on two wheels and would like to learn more technique.

03 Learn to Lean

Course Outline:

Students will be divided into skill level tiers to learn step by step how to string corners together on a road racetrack. You will learn how to negotiate a turn; enter, apex, exit on a race line with proper body position, braking techniques, and throttle control. Graduates of Conquer Corners .02 will build onto the muscle memory foundations they learned enabling increased cornering speed. By the end of the class all students will have learned the techniques of when and how to drag a knee in the corner.

Our most popular class for experienced motorcyclists that would like to try road racing!

You are a graduate of course Level .02 Conqure Corners class, OR you're a seasoned street bike rider with over a thousand miles of experience, OR an off-road rider with over a thousand hours of experience and you want to experience road racing and drag a knee!

04 Road Race 101

Course Outline:

Students will learn how to recognize the fast line, pass line and block line through a corner and how and when to execute each one. Coaches will critique any bad habits you may have and offer improvements throughout. Drills and track time will be used to fine tune each lesson. Graduates from .03 Learn to Lean will learn how to string race corners together and put a fast lap in – when you have mastered Road Race 101 and graduate with honours you are on your way to the podium!

Who Can Ride:

You are a retired road racer and want to experience the thrill of track riding again! OR you are a graduate from course Level .03 Learn to Lean , OR you are a seasoned track day rider who would like to pick up some new skills and learn race strategies.

05 Going Pro

Course Outline:

Students will learn body leading turning during drills and track time. We will continue to exercise the muscle memory framework from the previous classes and build onto it in different scenarios. Time permitting there will be a mock race in the last session. Please note at this stage we assume you have your own riding gear. Your riding gear will be reviewed for approval by SSRS staff, see Riding Gear Requirements. Please bring your own food and drink.

Who Can Ride:

You currently hold a road race licence and want to learn to go faster on the track, or you are a graduate of course Level .04 Road Race 101 with honors.

Your choice of pitbike 50cc – 110cc or OHVALE 110cc - 160cc mini-moto bike, instruction, complete set of safety gear, liability insurance, and track fees. 06 Circle Drill

Course Outline:

Fine tune your cornering skills - Students will learn to lead the bike with their body and build onto what they learned in Level .04 Road Race 101 . Students may be video taped to be reviewed by student and coach searching for improvement. The practical part of the class will be a combination of on-track lapping and circle drills.

Who Can Ride:

You are a graduate from course level .05 Goin' Pro . Your goal is to road race and increase your skill level.

Included:

A day on your choice of Ohvale 110cc-160cc or pitbike 50cc – 110cc mini-moto bike, instruction, liability insurance, damage insurance, track fees and video analysis. You supply your own riding gear. See our Gear Rental page. Please bring your own food and drink.

07 Transitions

Course Outline:

Transitions is one of the most difficult drills that takes time to master and will improve your lap times. In this class students learn how to master a smooth, quick body transition and throttle control combined. Students will gain skill to facilitate a full lean and carry speed through corners. The practical part of this class is a combination use of on-track and skid pad.

Who Can Ride:

Level .07 Transitions is for current road racers and track day riders serious about improving their performance on-track. You are graduate and have mastered level .06 Circle Drill.

Included:

A day on your choice of OHVALE 110cc-160cc or pitbike 50cc-110cc mini-moto bike, with instruction, liability insurance, damage insurance, track fees and video analysis. Please bring your own food and drink. If you require gear, see our Gear Rental.

08 Elbow Down

Course Outline:

Students will learn to push the limits of traction on pavement on both the front and rear tires. Students will gain knowledge on how to 'back it into the corner' by using down shifting and rear brake techniques. Students will also learn how to break traction on the front wheel by pushing the front end into a tuck position then saving it by picking up the bike back to where it finds traction again. This is the magic of learning on mini-motos!

Who Can Ride:

Level .08 Elbow Down is an advanced course designed for the graduates of courses level .05 to level .07.

09 Test Day Track Day

Who Can Ride:

Everyone welcome. You're a motorcycle racer (any type, current or past) OR a graduate from course level .02 Learn to Lean class, OR a seasoned track day rider. If you don't have gear review our Gear Rental guide. Bring your own food and drink and please note instruction is not available on a Test/Track Day event.

Included:

Test days will be held at indoor and outdoor facilities for members only. Prices may vary depending on the facility. Please note that if you are bringing your own bike it must be pre-approved and tech inspected. Please contact us for 2021 dates and availability.

10 Arrive and Ride

Who Can Ride:

Level .10 ARRIVE-N-RIDE, to race in the MiniSBK Series, for those students who have graduated from Course Level .03 (pitbike) or Level .04 (Ohvale) and would like to try road racing against competition. You are required to obtain a MiniSBK Race Licence.

REQUIREMENT: Open to kids age 5-12 yrs old (pitbike) and kids 7-12 yrs old (Ohvale)

Included:

On race day Level .10 ARRIVE-N-RIDE includes a bike, fuel, coach and bike tech, a full race program including practice sessions, 1 qualifying and 1 race. Bring your own food and drink and prepare to race! Race gear is available to rent.
